Dear Mr. Deaver:

I am one of several people who has mentioned you in a less than admiring way.

Are these mentions the reason for your having refused to return the phone calls of a certain someone, a someone who has integrity, honesty, and wisdom? Perhaps at this time that person and the rest of us want your response more than you want to communicate. But even the little guys among us are partners of yours, and we can contribute in ways that may not yet be apparent. The one who can contribute for sure is the person whom you are treating with disrespect.

If you consider the case dispassionately, I think you will return the calls. I, for one, will be more circumspect in what I write.
