I think that's the one and only thing that Rush can say in his defense. From what I've heard, his addiction originally resulted from the "prescribed use" of pain killers associated with a back operation that wasn't very successful (hence the continued illegal use) as opposed to a desire for fun weekends, performance enhancement etc..

If he takes that route I think the dittos will forgive him and it might actually be an educational experience for them.
