Ah yes, the benevolent dictator. What a good chap he was.


On this particular point, his chappiness is irrelevant. What's important is that Saddam was secualar whereas al Qaeda is religious. There is very little likelihood that they collaborated.

Me too, but we need to focus on the future opportunities in the region. I believe a democratic Iraq (if possible) will enhance security in the region.


Yes, of course but at what cost......... and that assumes it will happen.
