I'll never forget that one

neither will I, especially since I was there. I had just moved to boston to be near family (who were huge red sox fans) and I had just started college. that summer I sat in the bleachers for approx 30 games. once they clinched, they announced the day that standing room series tickets went on sale (I think it was at 10 am). I got in line at 5 pm the previous day with my german shepard, mac, who would ensure no one cut in front of me. <g>

the next day I became everyone's best friend, since I had two tickets to each game. I ended up seeing games 1, 6, and 7, and game 6 is something I will never forget. many things stand out, but the one thing I remember best is that when carbo was at bat in the eighth, the stadium was so quiet you could hear a pin drop (of course after he connected there was pandemonium).

what a game.
