All of us that have retired have thought about this, I am sure. I think the reason for the resistance is cost. It would turn into a Government paid Nursing home.

I had a good friend who died in a county run facility. When I visited him there in the last couple of months I walked out and said to myself, "Not me! I am not going like this!"

I would prefer to drop dead on the dance floor. Best way to go. But please, not for another 25 years! :>)
