why don't you leave and move to a country like NK where, lilke the US to which you seem to aspire, you cannot express a dissenting opinion and you can happily goosestep with your consenting unisonic countrymen...
I'd be the LAST person to oppose a right of dissent. However, that right is subservient to the higher interests of the country. When liberals' dissents become harmful to the interest of the country, I do have a problem with it.
This guy John Fowler, like Bill Maher, suggests that our bombing Iraq is an evil thing. It was, in all respects, a good thing. We freed 22M people, got rid of a dictator who was killing thousands monthly, and removed a threat to the region which is already beginning to bring stability to the region. To equate our actions with those of suicide bombers or other terrorists is both incompetent and inappropriate.
Wars are often good. The Gulf War was good. The Iraq War was good. You guys just want to look through the good that was done only to see bad. Same thing is happening with the liberal media.
As Mansoor Ijaz pointed out last night, when terrorists get the idea support may be wavering, it incites them to step up terrorism. If, for any reason, we should pull out of Iraq now, it would spell disaster for our nation as well as Iraq. Thus, it is incumbent on all, regardless of political belief, to support the effort in Iraq.
Anyone who, at this time, does NOT support that war, is a traitor. It isn't about dissent; it is about standing up for our nation's interest.
I don't expect you or this John Fowler to understand this. Liberals have a tough time with the concept. |
