From what I've seen Neo, the USA is actually highly conformist. Most societies are very rule-bound, conformist and repressive so it's not as though the USA is totally weird. But there is a teutonic tendency, which I suppose is due to lots of German descendants being there - people inherit and propagate their cultures.

Being an outsider, maybe I see it more easily - often it takes an external point of view to see how people are. I've spent a few years in North America and Europe so I've had a good look.

I think there are some freedom scoring measures of countries. Maybe the USA is top of the list. Maybe not. Google would know, but I have to go now.

We are actually quite close to preconditions for a comprehensive world government. Maybe some countries would prefer to stay out, but nearly all are in the existing faulty UN so there are few who don't find the attractions of civilisation worthwhile, even if imperfect.

Stop thinking about how things are, which you are right about [such as "international law"], and think about how things could be and how better off the USA would be. Does the USA really want to be waging constant war and spending such vast amounts on military services? Reading constantly of wars now running, wars to be had, economic dislocation to be suffered, bodies to be buried.

Some people do like that and they argue in favour of it. Most people don't really enjoy living under the gun.
