At the time so soon after 9-11, the so-called "patriots"
were in control. Remember what they did to Max Cleland for voting against the Homeland Security bill? And remember how they vilified Robert Byrd? Also, when the White House is telling everyone over and over how dangerous Saddam was everyone and I mean everyone had to take it seriously.
Taking out Saddam was not a bad thing, but doing it in such a rushed fashion was. That was Bush's war. He woujld have done it with or without congressional approval.
