just got back; friggin' hell that game was. Lowe pitched very well, really only made one bad pitch (the single by Garcia in the 2nd) but we continue to not hit at all. Nomar is killing us.

no way you pitch Pedro on short rest. no way. i don't have any stats to prove my point, though frankly i don't think Pedro's ever pitched on short rest.

look, we have to win two. the odds of winning two with Pedro and Wake both going on short rest, and thus likely requiring innings from Burkett and Arroyo to bridge to the Timlim / Williamson combo, are very very poor. my dad insists Burkett is gonna surprise us, and he was right last Sunday so i ain't gonna go against him.

that said, we could also pray for rain tomorrow, thus pushing Game 6 back to Thursday and Game 7 to Friday.

the game today was very very winnable and we just coughed it up (err....i thought that was "Cowboy Up" <g>). not to take credit away from the Yankees though; they came into Fenway and took 2 of 3 despite themselves only scoring 11 runs.

anyway, i'm off to NYC tomorrow AM and praying for rain...

Cheers
