That view isn't admitted by Israelis and Israel's supporters, not because they think it's false, but because they don't want it to be true.


In this I agree. I will add, that no one really knows to what extent it is true today or will be true tomorrow. The one think that is almost never correct is linear extrapolation of the present situation. Israel has been very convenient for the Arab leaders, but has everybody drunk the Kool-Aid? Even if they have, are the Arab masses going to remain fixated forever? If they start to see real hopes to improve their own lives, won't they care more about their own lives than Israel? The politics of the Middle East have been too stable for the last 30 years, dysfunctional father to son autocracies all over the place. I doubt they can keep it up.
