You are entitled to your opinion but I think that is the problem. It's one thing to say, "let the UN take over."

If I were making the decisions, I'd do that. I suspect it's a bluff and that the UN will not be able to provide troops or funds and will be unwilling to do this.

It's easy to bash the US, and often for good cause. However, I suspect that most of the critical nations would and have acted similarly and prefer to sit back and be critical, rather than providing or helping provide a solution.
