The French, very much unlike us, have been on the road to energy independence for some time. They are net exporters of electricity and have a huge nuclear power program.

Couple that with their own nuclear deterrent and they will not only not feel threatened by the Iranians, but they probably won't be.

Then think of the French amusement at creating an energy crisis for the rest of us, or in particular the United States.

If gas goes to 4 or 5 dollars a gallon, well they could just cut their taxes and keep on trucking - their society is used to it.
