We should conduct ourselves, so the Muslim world voluntarily reports positive things about us, in their press. The measure of whether we are doing Good, is not how we see ourselves (this is the most biased viewpoint), but rather, how Others see us.
If we are seen as a force for evil in the world (and that is how we are consistently portrayed, not just in Muslim nations, but increasingly in Europe and E. Asia as well), then we will be resisted, everywhere, habitually and continuously. Today, by suicide bombers, tomorrow with nuclear weapons. |
