A society cannot just survive by just consuming or designing.


A society will thrive as long as it creates more value than it consumes.

On a personal note, I've never manufactured anything. Yet, I've done reasonably well in getting compensated for the value I created. And I believe the same can be stated for the majority of the population.

Manufacturing won't disappear, but it will continue to employ a smaller percentage of the population with each passing decade.
