Given that the definition of an editorial is (via Merriam-Webster)...

editorial (noun)

: a newspaper or magazine article that gives the opinions of the editors or publishers; also : an expression of opinion that resembles such an article <a television editorial>

...what, exactly, defines the difference you're asserting separates an "editorial" from an "opinion column"?
