CHATSWORTH, Calif., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MRV Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: MRVC - News) announced today that it is raising approximately $5 million through the sale of 1,667,000 newly issued shares of MRV's common stock to several institutional investors that are managed client accounts of a large investment management firm. The net proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes and to meet working capital needs.
A registration statement relating to these securities was filed with, and was declared effective on June 25, 2003 by, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
