I can hardly deny that I would like to see a consolidation of Republican and conservative power for awhile, to get through changes I would like to see........

This reminded me of a story--(I know, what doesn't)
When my older son was 15 and got his first paycheck, he was appalled to see that the government was taking taxes from him, a kid, a poor, struggling student saving for college. He decided that he needed to be put in charge of the country so he could take care of these injustices. When I pointed out that dictatorships were frowned on in America, he said somewhat offended, "Well, it won't be for long, just til I fix things."

I shudder to think of our country with even less choice than we have now. It's not much of a competition as it is, but at least the Dems can still ruffle the waters a bit.
