<<And most people are very happy with that technology.">>

It's been so long that I've forgotten how to italicize the print :) I'll tell you who's not happy ... talk to the students, especially the younger ones. This issue really strikes a nerve with me. My daughter will be 12 in a few months and she has finally reached a weight that exceeds her book bag. This is not meant as pun or an exaggeration but an actual fact. It was the number one student complaint from both the elementary and middle schools in my district. A major complaint from the parents was the increasing amount of errors in the textbooks. These are the same books that have more than doubled and perhaps even tripled the inflation rate over the past decade ... I hope that rant was therapeutic for you as well :)

I'm too tired to look back but someone asked about the IPG of a News Corp business and if it was Gemstar's or not. If it's BSkyB in Britain then it's currently not but if it's SkyPerfecTV in Japan then it is. I forget if the latter uses the G Guide application and/or some enabling technology but it's in there. BSkyB uses NDS technology which has an IPG exemption from Gemstar that was was granted as a condition of the Gemstar-TV Guide Merger Agreement. I didn't understand the clause in which the exemption was granted and posted it here in (I think) '99. I still don't understand it.
