The Scientific Method depends on an Academy willing to test hypotheses. When the personal biases of the members of the Academy prevent the proper application of scientific skepticism, as so often happens in the humanities, then the process has broken down. Then you have a jobs program for PhDs who release tripe and declare it truth, as if handed down from the Wise Man of the Mountain. Certainly not healthy for society. Derek
