Maybe you need to read the article again. No one is attacking Kerry for his Vietnam service. It is merely pointing out that over the years there have been some inconsistencies in Kerry's comments about the value (as it relates to an individual's qualifications for serving in an elected office) of having served in Vietnam.

Completing disregarding Kerry's inconsistent comments, this is an important point. Having served in the military, particularly at Kerry's level, does not by definition make you a more "qualified" candidate for elected office.

Obviously, Wesley Clark's military service is more germane to his overall qualifications. It makes up 95% of his resume and provides insight about his leadership skills.
