So if such a one wished to request a deeply held belief be specially acknowledged by society as to its exercise...the belief had better be one that has the "credibility" of either Mcdonald's or the Vatican, or similar. Yes, there is a good reason that instances of conscientious objector status do not abound. Clearly society cannot not be lenient in assigning that status. And probably still wouldn't if it could.
