That would indeed be the ideal outcome, though it seems that there is too often someone determined to see and loudly proclaim the most negative interpretation of a situation. I don't think of Pitts as particularly (extremely, overly) sensitive, yet this obviously did resonate for him.

I think for me it might depend on the length of time. In an emergency, the wink and "asshole" comment might suffice, but after that when management starts catering to the asshole, it might be time to say something, even if it's just an expression of discomfort.
I dunno.

I've been watching the Terry Shiavo case. It reminds me that we ought to think about things in advance since when events occur, we don't always think too clearly or make great decisions. I think I told you how my mother had Living Wills everywhere when she was dying- I swear I expected to drive into town and see them nailed to telephone poles like Yard Sale signs.
Someday I may be confronted with a racially charged decision and be able to say, "Hmm- Karen said this, and I thought this, and ...." and the answer will be nice and clear.
