I am glad you are still around.

Thanks Joe. I've been pretty pre-occupied putting together business plans and infrastructure, but this AMD performance will only help fund things further :-). I'm feeling pretty good that I took some of my partial CC proceeds to buy out of the money calls in case this happened. If we do see 16 tomorrow, it will be as if I kept all of my shares. In either case I don't think I'll be selling AMD in the near future.

I still do not believe we've seen the Intel response yet, and I think the 64-bit Prescott extension approach, if truly beneficial, could have real impact on AMD64's success. One competitive advantage that Intel could market from Win32 OS-supported extensions, if that's what they do, rather than a new mode could be compatibility with the actual Windows 32-bit version and its associated drivers. They could try to position AMD64 in-between a 64 bit extended / fully 32-bit compatible architecture, and a "real" 64 bit solution like Itanium. Of course we know that it is a truly 64 bit architecture, but I suspect that might happen anyhow.

I don't mean to dampen any well-deserved enthusiasm with concern about something. It's kind of the way I am :-). I still think AMD blew this one away and deserves the success they look like they are beginning to enjoy, both in CPU and Flash.

Mike
