At age 49 now, I recall purchasing an album for $3.58(Nichols Discount City chain), at age 15 or 16, by a band called The Fugs. It contained songs such as "Slum Goddess From The Lower East Side(eat my dick)" and "Coca-Cola Douche." One song contained lyrics alluding to a roomful of lesbian dwarfs rolling around in jello. One song called "Saran Wrap" offered a classic tale of backseat automobile sex involving the obvious substitute for condoms, "when ya ain't got no scum bag". I think I recall that the members of the band were self proclaimed communists, and suggested in the liner notes(certainly a bit of a warning label) that their album would be worth $50 bucks by 1984(I've no idea!). I remember thinking it was funny/shocking as all get out. My friends were as astounded as I was, and believe me, it got passed around quite a bit. I have no idea what this all means, except that no one was looking then.

Let me put that on and listen again...."oh honey, listen, they are playing our song!" LOL, how odd it must be to be young and married these days, when it comes to the possibilities for "our song."
