And was reminded why, with all my libertarian impulses, I still tend to like the "Left" better than the "Right".

LOL. My libertarian impulses don't enable me to "like" either one of them. A statist is a statist is a statist, IMO. However, I am decidedly less frightened by the ones on the left. If we can't get away from big government, I'd prefer it to impose environmental regulations rather than bedroom regulations. <g>
