<<you are right,I do not get it. Seems like a silly thing to make a stand about.-The first time you applied for a social security number, you gave up any hope of annonimity to a much more powerful organization than SI.-That was the time to make a stand if you were going to on those grounds....What freedom do you lose if you verify that you only post using one name.-Can you not see the implications if people use multiple names and have imaginary conversations to dupe people into buying or selling to influence the money flow using fraudulent means?

99% of all merchants want to see proof you are who you say you are. Why should SI not have the same assurance?>>

I understand your point, but you are looking at the situation incorrectly.
You are describing the situtation where SI upfront made it a condition that you had to supply this information and this requirement applied to everyone. I would have no problem with that and would have complied.

But in this case, 100 people were arbitrarily selected and were told "Provide us with this information by August 12 (an impossible deadline) or you are history. Of course, mine and many other peoples response was ro say "Screw you, "I'm out of here". I work real hard and always do everything 100% legit (notice I have a real name and a working email), so I don't take kindly to taking orders from people.

Also you will notice that almost everyone who is leaving is not an Amati investor (mainly Westell and Aware). If this had happened within our threads than our response might have been different. But we were basically guests posting Amati news and somehow got caught up in this intra-thread bullshit.

I know that if I am allowed to stay at SI that I will NEVER post again in the Amati thread. If I have any Amati news then I will simply post it in the Aware or Westell threads.
