I'm sorry, but I don't see the legal equivilent of a colonial British ruling with that of the UN partition. Interestingly, the very thing, tribal revenge, that you label as crap was disussed with Arab friends who thought that it was very much part of their tradition. Indeed, my wife and I were regaled with a story of how our host's uncle had to assasinate people from the group who assasinated his wife's grandfather.
