With the current schedules, it is pretty safe to to consider anything on the 64-bit Windows platform as a H2 2004 thing. I don't see much hope beyond Linux servers until then.

On 32-bit code Prescott is going to be an extremely good competitor. It is going to be a much closer battle on the desktop without Windows64.

So, unlike the original Athlon spike which lasted for a year and half, it is difficult see legs behind this run beyond Q1 2004. It could happen but not having a viable OS makes it very difficult to predict.
