Here is an article which kind of makes your argument Searle. Jobs, especially good ones will become increasingly rare in the future. Why, even China has suffered major job losses in the last 10 years. And these losses are in the manufacturing sector. 16 million jobs lost between 1992 to 2002. This of course while productivity in this sector increased by 30%.

All this spells a huge realignment of values and careers in the future. For example, the price of a good television may well equal what can be earned in a day delivering the newspaper. Or a good meal in a restaurant. Or maybe the price of a hotel room. Does that make sense? I don't know, I am struggling here trying to understand how this can possibly work.
