James, I know James Sinclair.

In fact, he has been in my home and eaten a meal with me. He also gave me an autographed copy of his book, "The Strategic Metals war." That was in the 1970s. So, I won't say anything bad about him except that he has been a market operator for forty years and it would appear he has a vested interest in gold at the moment!

However, "This is a chart that if it was at the foot of your hospital bed would announce your unfortunate demise." is pure bullshit and I would have expected better from him. He does not state what the chart is meant to be a representation of nor what the Y-axis scale is. Furthermore, and this is most important, he does not say what the "normal" range of whatever-it-is is.

Yes, we know that and we discuss it often. My position is if the economy can pick up then the concern with the debt will diminish. So, what statistics will they use to tell us that the economy has improved?

1. Number of new jobs created in China
2. Number of bombs dropped in the Mid East
3. Number of UN Resolutions about Israel vetoed by the US
4. Number of terrorists killed or imprisoned at Guantanamo.
5. Number of new SRVs
6. Number of downloads of mp3 files on the internet

I'm sure they'll find others but make no mistake, come Hell or High Water, by the end of this year the economy will have improved.
