pat got the email, i did, bart did, JW did, brice did, Eric did, Andreas did, you did, etc. the 100 most recent posters as of the day of the e-mailing got the e-mail.
for the millionth time, this exercise has nothing to do with viewpoints and everything to do with SI's perogative to keep banished people from returning and keep individuals from using multiple accounts. that they have to use this clumsy voided check process is a bummer, but who has a better near-term solution? chalk it up to growing pains for a new medium.
don't let a couple of bad apples and libertarian reflexes drive you from SI. if you need more time to get the info to SI, drop them an e-mail and they'll give you an extension. if you can think of another form of ID authentication that is less intrusive to you but meets SI's pressing need, propose it and i bet they'll go along.
this censorship theory fails occam's razor in a big way.
