Spirit as it relates to Franken, it was hilarious that O'REALLY got Fox to sue him over the cover of his book. Sure it was the cover that made them do it....when in reality it was what Franken did with the content to show...Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them. Everyone with an open mind should read Franken's book...it is hilarious and nails the O'Really's, Hannity's, Coulter,Limbaugh's, Bennett's, and Bush and gang to the wall with FACTS.
The one I found so interesting and speaks to the issue of the Right Wing religious fanatics is their devotion to Bush because he is such a Christian and has such Christian members around him.
Remember the Newsweek edition that carried the "Bush and God" article? This has been the best selling edition since 9-11 and featured the revelation that Don Evans was the one who got his ol' buddy Codpiece to see the light and get right with god. According to Newsweek: "It was a scriptual boot camp, an intensive, yearlong study of a single book of the NEW Testament, each week a new chapter, with detailed reading and discussion in a group of ten men. For two years Bush and Evans and their partners read the clear writings of the Gentile physician Luke...Acts, and then his Gospel."
Remember this was the best selling edition for Newsweek and one can guess who was buying this magazine to read about their Christian prez and his friends. So isn't it funny to find the very man who "brought" him to god and a man who spent so much time studying Acts, that when confronted at a banquet in the Hilton Hotel in Washington, was asked, "Did you read Howard Fineman's cover story in Newsweek on Bush and God?" "Yes, " Evans said. "Did you like it?" "Yes." "So did I", I said. "So, you know what Acts is about." Evans looked a little uncomfortable. Long pause, Then. "NO." ___________________________________________________________ Ah! That wasted time of Evans and Shrub pouring over Acts, but then it was apparently just a lie to convince the flock with their fake religious practices.
___________________________________________________________ But my favorite quote from Franken's book is...." The President said if we did nothing, there would be an instability in the region. There would be a flood of refugees, Iraqis would die, and the credibility of the UN would be undermined. Well, Bush's bombing campaign has caused all these problems to explode."..House Majority Whip Tom Delay.
