Dear Jim: One big reason Microsoft has to get a 64 bit OS for AMD64, Linux. Without a 64 bit version for Windows, Microsoft can kiss the Enterprise, goodbye. With servers running Linux, the Power users would follow, then everyone else. In 5 to 10 years, MS is ancient history. So they must match Linux or die slowly. Guess which Bill Gates would choose?
