Human Rights are the basic rights of ALL people - regardless of their color, sex, age, national or ethnic origin, religious beliefs or economic status - to live in freedom and be treated fairly
they include the right to live in freedom and safety, to legal protection and a fair trial, the freedom of movement [leaving and entering your countries as you wish], freedom of religion, thought and expression, the right to ask another country to protect you from danger in your country, the right to marry and have a family, the right to own things, the right to education
the middle east fails these standards miserably when it comes to women
you don't have to be there, live there, interview a person to form a conclusion of how their culture treats them
but you knew that
you just apparently like to have women boxed in by middle eastern male dominated societies, treated as second class citizens and call it not that bad
of course this entire discussion started by my mentioning the treatment of middle eastern women in a post regarding the fact that October is National Breast Cancer Month in America - very telling that you never even acknowledged that |
