Interesting post. It is my belief that even in Germany the retirement crisis is overstated. The German Government's decision not to provide an increase in retirement benefits this year is one part of the solution. Governments worldwide will discover that small incremental reductions in benefits together with small increases in eligibility age will go a long way to solving the "problem." The last piece of the puzzle is the tremendous labor shortage that will develop in Germany in 10 or 15 years that will draw retirees back into the workforce.
