Looking for something else, I just ran across this post by you. And I quote:

"Quit lying about Davis. He's the legit governor and knows better than anyone what the complex problems are now. He may not be exciting and charismatic but he's the most experienced guy we could possibly have in thre now."

"You can't balance budgets unless you make hard choices. Sometimes that means taxes and revenues."

"If you listen to Davis on the details instead of just attacking him you'd understand what he's doing, how he's trying to minimize the pain. You'll know he's doing the best he can."

I recently posted you numbers on total state spending in California under Gray Davis. You never really responded to them. Here they are again.... look at these numbers and tell me, was Davis "doing the best he can"? Was he making "hard choices"? Were his spending increases (which you have tried to justify to me as appropriate because revenue was increasing) a sign that Davis "knows better than anyone what the complex problems are now"?

Here are the figures (from the State of California, Legislative Analyst's Office):

Grand Total of State Spending, California

Fiscal Year 1994-95: $ 86.1B
Fiscal Year 1995-96: $ 90.2B
Fiscal Year 1996-97: $ 95.9B
Fiscal Year 1997-98: $100.2B
(Gray Davis elected, November 1998)
Fiscal Year 1998-99: $109.6B
Fiscal Year 1999-00: $122.2B
Fiscal Year 2000-01: $137.7B
Fiscal Year 2001-02: $145.8B
Fiscal Year 2002-03: $166.8B
Fiscal Year 2003-04: $154.7B (projected)
