It has the charm of citizen-politician, which is what we need more of, along with the failing of insufficient campaign-time to test his mettle.
Everyone basically knows him as a comic-book character.
I doubt we'll get much real dope on his previous activities, but it would be nice to know what he discussed in the meetings with Ken Lay in '01 or the Rothchild meetings in England this year. Maybe it was just, "hey, it's a movie star, howarya?", or "Arnie's helping kids, and we should all think more about the children".
It's wait-and-see, the only indicator so far is his attitude towards the groping dropped his credibility, going from "I'll talk all about that after the election!", to his most recent, "that's old news" dismissal. If he can't do better than that, he's going to be just another dud, listening in that case not to "liberal" advisors but to cynical manipulators that are becoming standard in the politics "industry". |
