Tim,

re: its not something easily counted.

It is something that is easily estimated, and we've done it in prior wars, Vietnam for instance, when our technology was less sophisticated. It's surprising that we can and are willing to estimate the number of people killed by SH in a given year but can't or are unwilling to estimate the number that we killed. My guess is that the latter exceeds the former by 10X; remember there were no embedded journalists with the Iraqi troops.

re: Also the aid and the lifting of sanctions will save many Iraq lives and improve the wellbeing of other Iraqis.

Your tax dollars at work. We have no idea what's going to happen in Iraq in the next 5 to 10 years, but we can be fairly certain that the rosy scenario painted by the Bush admin during the war is not on plan.

Since this was so successful, which tyrant should we go after next? Korea? How many kids do we lose, how much debt do we accumulate, to free the world of tyranny?

And by the way, how many more lives and $billions is it going to cost to actually get SH and OBL?
