Being a member of a political party doesn't mean that I have to agree with all of the party's platform. I am totally against oil exploration in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. I think the number one priority of our nation's energy policy should be the replacement of oil with a renewable, clean source, and the sooner the better. Our children are choking on the fumes from automobile exhausts and it is getting worse. As an environmentalist, the thing that sickens me the most is the horrible situation concerning the international dumping of hundreds of tons of raw sewerage and dangerous chemicals into our oceans and streams each year, which is well documented. I also am upset over the rape of the rain forests. We only have one Earth, and we are slowly destroying it as a place that can support human life.
