But you do live, so you make many assumptions based on the most rational analysis of what you believe that you perceive and understand. That being the case, it is not rational to exclude from that process the most fundamental questions of life.

I agree with your first statement. I differ on the second. There is no reason why you have to have answers to those questions. You can get through life satisfactorily without them. Forcing a answer that you don't need to have and don't have the data to get is not rational. Sure, think it through and take your best guess, but don't claim it's an answer. And certainly don't think it's enough of an answer to warrant conflict with your fellow guessers. That's most definitely not rational.
