Then have you been actively writing to your congressman to cut relations with Saudi? I know I would not want to have relations with such people. The fact is though, that without US support the Saudi regime would not have remained in power. IMO, this makes us partially responsible for what goes on there.

ok let's not discuss the Saudis...I doubt there is much we'd disagree upon there.

Have seen this site tehran24.com they take random photos of various parts of Iranian cities and post them. They used to offer a lot more, but now that is reserved for paid for members. Anyway, click on the photo of Shirin Ebadi to see the photos of Iranians welcoming her back. What you will notice is that there is at least as many men in the gathering as there are women. This goes to show that although officially she got the Nobel Peace award for defending women and children, men are equally proud of her work.

So it seems that at least in parts of the middle east, men are not afraid of women's rights but are rather supporters of it.
