A theist- the negation of God, the belief that there is NO God. A gnostic- I don't know if there is a God. Seems pretty clear to me. I know which I am- A gnostic. I would never go so far as to say there was no unifying principle I could conceive of as falling under the term "god"- but I have no real knowledge of that principle, so I don't choose to believe in it right now, although I embrace the possibility that it could exist. And here is something cool "I know" and I also "believe" that the possibility exists, but I do not need to "believe" in the actual thing- the belief in the possibility, which I do not "know" in any appreciable (sensate) way, except through my brain working through ideas, is good enough.

Which do you think you are?
