What do you mean "certify" the copies? Are you suggesting subpoenas and an investigation? By whom?
With the GOP in control of all branches of gov't and spineless Dems this may be wished, but won't happen until after '04.
But for that matter, who certifies any information to the contrary? Wait, there isn't any, never mind.
Reputations are made, or lost, on on having, or not, the correct details
Absolutely. Another reason why the Bush reputation has declined in the Iraq war, among many other things. The details don't support the claims. Whether or how much profiteering is involved will be determined by detailed accounting, which has not yet been released, but will be.
What's interesting is the change in mood by opponents. On Crossfire last night was someone who wrote "What comes around ", about those who "hate" Bush. The author was among them. He noticed a personal revulsion of Bush among his friends and acquaintences, who not only are repelled by the policies but can't stand to hear him speak or see him on tv.
Tucker Carlson tried to argue with that, saying the Dems hated Bush more than the GOP hated Clinton, but the studio audience poll thought otherwise.
This is a big change. Up to now, the liberal dems have avoided any real emotion, preferring the liberal "niceness" and trying to avoid the kind of nonsense that hounded Clinton. I think the gloves are off, and more and more opponents of Bush will be speaking their minds, as the author says, on two issues: personal and policy.
Of course the GOP will counterattack, contrary to Bush Senior's old pretense of a "kind and gentle" approach, which will no longer work, and which was never honored.
It'll be a nasty year.
An email came into the show from someone who said the Bush opposition was still too understated; Carlson said, "how could it get any worse?". The answer, of course, is impeachment. |
