I would basically agree with that presentation, except that knowledge isn't, I think, as strong as you seem to indicate. At various periods of history people had many instances of knowledge that turned out to be false.

Of course, looking back on it, we say that wasn't true knowledge, but mere belief or opinion. But then we can't claim to have any knowledge today, because there is always a chance that it will be proved wrong.

So if you measure "knowledge" by the state of mind of the time, knowledge is not as certain as you poresent it. If you measure knowledge by the wisdom of later ages, then there is no knowledge until the last trump sounds.
