Try borrowing
money for a business venture from a CDN bank some time...

ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

ooohhh my.....!

oh the agony and the pain!

CDN banks exist to take people's money and call it their own.

Once a CDN bank, TD asked me for a credit check if I deposited money with them. I said sure if they would provide me with their latest Dun and Bradstreet. They declined. I pointed out that they were borrowing money off me, not I off them. End of business relationship.

CDN bank mergers will make them more like the government, and less like human beings. They say they need it to become more competitive. The antithesis of competition is going to make them more competitive? How is that? What they mean is the market place will be less competitive, more monopolistic and they will be richer. Canadian banks need to be more competitive all right. They need more competition. I say bring on the foreign banks and level the playing field.
