I woudn't think a "top expert" would hand over control to the president, and then lamely say later he was "promised" something else. That sounds like an excuse to please a different constituency, that he didn't even know existed.
Dean has the cojones to hold the neocons accountable.
Either go, or don't go, but don't authorize force, then complain when it's used.
Perhaps Kerry misjudged these lying neocons, if he believed their promises. Dean hasn't misjudged them from Day One.
Dean would not have authorized use of force except to allow the inspections. This is what made sense to me also, as well as most Americans, until the Bush neocons bamboozled Congress and went in. Now, our neck is on the line and have to figure out how to extricate both our necks, and our government from neocon control, and people like Kerry won't help. Kerry's a proven veteran and proven politician, but goes along with the program. Dean's more the type who has the cojones to change things.
So did Paul Wellstone, and so does Feingold. But very few others. Most are products of inside-the-beltway politics and unending excuses. |
