I have no clue how you got to materialism, btw. Unless you consider people not wanting to spend the entire gross national product on health care materialism. And unless you don't recognize that if we did do that, the GNB would peter out pretty quickly because that's a pretty inefficient place to put money. Humane in the short term, but not in the long.
