Jozef:

Compusa is notorious for taking intel money and tying out AMD products.

I was in there in Sept. and every AMD model from HP (and cpq) were marked down as discontinued. Even the recently released 2800+ desktop model with built in DVD burner. All notebooks, including the cpq with xp pro, 512 ddr, combo drive and built in wireless 801.11g for $1000 were similarly discontinued.

I asked the business sales guy why and he just gave a tongue in cheek "I don't know." The ironic part was I was trying to purchase three of the notebooks (only 1 left) b/c they were the only compusa models available with xp pro and left with him following me outside trying to convince me 2.4 p4 desknotes with xp home and 256 ddr (sans built in wireless) for $1200 were sufficient.

Top to bottom, compusa personnel are morons. But, shareholders are probably rewarded handsomely for their blind devotion to intel inside.
