I am with with the tribe that believes all metals will rise, the gap between Pt and Pd will close, and that cash is being trashed, and so I am open to new ideas ;0)

With Ni. prices at levels I haven't seen for years ( US $5/lb ) and Cu. at 3 yr. highs, it would seem you are right.
China has no domestic supply of Ni. BTW.
Canadian producers Inco ( NYSE:N ) and Falconbridge Ltd.( T:FL ) are benefactors.

Also, surely the spread between Pt and Pd ( $ 700+ vs. $ 200 ) will bring auto makers to turn to Pd.

Fuel cells BTW are high in Pt Pd content so the advent of fuel cells vs. combustion engines (catalytic converters) should not pose a problem to these two metals.
