OT: Final push for anti-occupation mobilization this Saturday, October 25th! Momentum is growing for the protests planned in Washington, DC and San Francisco, and other locations around the country, this weekend, but our mobilizing work isn\'t over.
With people coming to Washington from more than 150 cities this promises to be the largest anti-war demonstration since Bush declared the war over last May. It is not too late to make plans to participate in this mobilization. And it\'s not too late to encourage others to join the call for an end to the U.S. occupation of Iraq. Help send a strong, clear message to the Bush Administration and Congress: it is time to bring the troops home. Instead of billions of dollars for an unjust military occupation, we need that money for our schools and health care and other vital social programs.
In these next few days each of us can make a contribution to the success of this timely effort:
** Send this email to others you know and make a round of phone calls to everyone who might want to join this effort.
** Check the ride board at the United for Peace and Justice web site (www.unitedforpeace.org/ride.php" class="url" target="_blank">http://www.unitedforpeace.org/ride.php). Find out what transportation is available from your city and/or list requests for rides. (For those of you in New York, please see below for information about our buses.)
** Make a donation to the UFPJ to help cover the costs of organizing a demonstration of this scale. Go to www.unitedforpeace.org/article.php" class="url" target="_blank">http://www.unitedforpeace.org/article.php
** Join the hundreds of volunteers for the many tasks that need to be done at the demonstration. There will be a check in table at the assembly/rally site on the west side of the Washington Monument in Washington, DC. Find the table and offer your services.
Thanks!
